چکیده

The paper deals with the supervisory control of a nonlinear uncertain system in which the switching is directed by the recently introduced state-dependent dwell-time switching logic. The proposed supervisory control architecture is shown to regulate to zero the state of the system without requiring the switching to stop in 4nite time. A signi4cant class of systems to which the control architecture can be applied is the class of linear systems with input saturation. ? 2003 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

New Supervisory Control Using Control-relevant Switching

This paper presents a new supervisory control scheme, which is based on a control-relevant switching logic. Unlike most of the existing switching methods considering only estimator performance, the proposed scheme takes both estimator and controller performance into account. As an index to the controller performance, an iISS (integral-Input-to-State Stability) Lyapunov function is employed; it ...

Enhanced distinguishability in Supervisory Fault Tolerant Control

This paper deals with the design of an estimator-based supervisory Fault Tolerant Control (FTC) scheme for Linear Time Invariant (LTI) systems. A formal stability proof based on dwell-time conditions is presented when the state of the detection filter does not correspond to the plant state, as in classical (Luenberger) observer-based approaches. In this context, fault isolability could be impro...

Optimization with the time-dependent Navier-Stokes equations as constraints

In this paper, optimal distributed control of the time-dependent Navier-Stokes equations is considered. The control problem involves the minimization of a measure of the distance between the velocity field and a given target velocity field. A mixed numerical method involving a quasi-Newton algorithm, a novel calculation of the gradients and an inhomogeneous Navier-Stokes solver, to find the opt...

Switching Adaptive Control of Time-Varying Plants

We study the problem of adaptively stabilizing time-varying plants using supervisory control, which employs multiple controllers and a supervisory unit that orchestrates switching among the controllers. We show that for bounded disturbances and noise, all the closed-loop signals remain bounded provided that the plant varies slowly enough and the unmodeled dynamics are small enough. Slow variati...

Enforcement of Event-Based Supervisory Constraints Using State-Based Methods - Decision and Control, 1999. Proceedings of the 38th IEEE Conference on

Efficient, established techniques exist for enforcing systems of linear inequalities on the state vectors of discrete event systems modeled as Petri nets. This paper presents methods for extending the convenience of these state-based techniques to supervisory constraints that are expressed in terms of allowable plant events rather than just allowable plant states. Two interpretations of event-b...
